Zoetropes

Interactive sculptures created from found objects (eg hula hoops, bike pedals). The inside of these works are decorated with paintings which come to life when the zoetrope is spun. 

 

These analogue animation machines are more than just wonderous visual illusions, they are phenomelogical tools- inviting reflection on shared perspectives and bringing embodiment back into moving images.

The scale of these zoetropes means people can immerse themselves within worlds, becoming increasingly dizzy when the animations spin and dance around them.
