Test install proved exciting for fellow students & staff at Massey.

Participants were invited to squeeze objects to transform the projection work. Their touch brought animations to life and altered the scale of elements (just a wee taster of the possibilities).

The work self-critically navigates how embodied (fxmme) selves are represented in digital technology. It also questions the degrees of agency between audiences and artists. Allowing the audience to 'remix' the body affords them some control, however this freedom is ultimately limited, occurring within a predetermined framework constructed by the artist.

A tension arose between the tactile, childlike installation and the high-tech software. The installation self-critically dismantled the often individualised "VJ" practice and art making itself.

Next steps involve developing further objects and finalising how these remix the video imagery.
